Error checking in OmniScript happens when the step’s Validation Required setting is turned on and at least one element on that step is marked as required. The Validation Required flag tells OmniScript to enforce validation on the step, while marking an element as required designates fields that must be provided by the user. When both conditions are met, the step won’t advance until the required fields are filled and any validators on those fields run. If only one condition is present—Validation Required on but no fields marked as required, or fields required but Validation Required off—error checking won’t trigger. So both together are what enable error checking.
